Amazing Drumming Monkeys
- 2 October 08

Under a great big tree in the bottom of the Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre garden, Bongo and Congo a dynamic puppet duo travelled from SA to entertain Rozelle children in the morning and afternoon sun.

Bongo and Congo played live rhythmic drum beats, sang songs and taught children (and adults) dances about friendship, exercising like kangaroos and most importantly looking after the environment.

The cheeky monkeys also performed magic tricks with a special frog who needed audience encouragement to reveal a important message to encourage children to can make the world better by planting a tree and to watch it grow.

Bertie, an orphaned polar bear, also made an appearance to talk about the melting ice caps and to encourage children to ask their parents to leave their cars at home and walk or catch a bus.

To end the performance a lucky gate prize was won by two children who chose Amazing Drumming Monkeys DVDs to take home to spread their message to their friends and family.

Bongo's and Congos energy smart performance was sponsored by Balmain Tigers and Leichhardt Councils Community Development Expenditure Program which enables Rozelle Neighbourhood Centres to develop a Theatre Feature school holiday program.
