Ever After Theatre Company Saved
- 13 March 08

Due to the generosity of the local community, corporate sponsors and NSW government, Ever After Theatre Company is able to continue making theatre throughout 2008.

Ever After Theatre Company was formed in 2001 at Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre in Sydney’s inner west.

The company is made up of 13 young actors who happen to have intellectual disabilities.

Since 2001, the group has created at least two theatre works per year, making it the longest running community theatre company in NSW made up of actors with intellectual disabilities.

Late last year the company risked closure due to a lack of funds to pay for the actual running of the company – to pay for space, administration, equipment, props and someone to co-ordinate the group.

Thanks to the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care, local Community donations - including one generous donation of $5000 - and the ongoing support of corporate sponsor Swiss Re, the company will continue through 2008. Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre has employed a part time coordinator to organise the everyday running of the company. This will include fundraising, developing funding applications and publicising the group.

Ever After Theatre Company would like thank all those who have supported the company including a team of dedicated volunteers, the staff and Management Committee of Rozelle Neighborhood Centre, our sponsors, funding partners and community businesses, as well as Leichhardt council.

The Company is looking forward to a jam packed year of drama classes and developing new productions. Stay tuned for details of our upcoming performances.
