Paper Lady goes International
- 16 Feb 10
|
Our troops in war zones can’t “pop down to the shops” to pick out a card for their loved ones. So last Christmas, Paper Lady of Rozelle organised a team of paper crafters to make and donate Christmas cards that were sent all over the world so that our Australian armed forces personnel would have hand made cards to write to their loved ones back home. The cards were enthusiastically received in Afghanistan, Egypt, Sudan & by the Royal Australian Navy.
Following the success of the event, over 350 cards were made. Paper Lady is doing the same for Mother’s Day. If you would like to donate your handmade cards please call Karen Cumming for information about how you can get involved. The closing date for donations is Thursday April 1st to allow time for distribution to the troops.
Karen holds regular card making & paper craft classes right here in Rozelle. To book a workshop or for general enquiries call Karen directly to find out availability and/or discuss any special requirements you may have.
In the meantime, check out her projects www.kcpaperlady.stampinup.net or come along to a class alternate Tuesdays at Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre’s Meeting Room from 7 to 9pm. Phone 9818 4984 or 0427 063 376 or kecumming@gmail.com
