Volunteers - Get Involved!
Perhaps you've watched TV programs about how lonely and isolated older people can get. Or you have been out of the workforce and would like to build your office skills but don’t know where to start.
So what can you do about any of those things, you ask?
The answer: You can volunteer.
If you'd like to support a cause but can't afford to donate money, you can donate your time instead with:
- social visiting with Neighbourhood Aid
- assist with recreational activities with WERRP participants
- letter box deliveries to distribute and newsletters and promotion activities
- or management committee role participation
Volunteering gives you an opportunity to change people's lives, including your own.
- meet people with similar interests
- learn new or refresh your skills
- make someone feel included in the community
- meet people that could lead to future contacts for jobs
- training is available and a requirement of some volunteer opportunities
If this sounds like something you would like to become involved with contact us to arrange an appointment to discuss what would best suit your needs and experience in either our Neigbour Aid and Weekend Respite & Recreation Programs.
