WERRP

Weekend Respite & Recreation Program

The Weekend Respite and Recreation Programme has dual aims: to provide respite to families who have a member with an intellectual disability, and leisure and community access to people with intellectual disabilities.

We aim to provide leisure access opportunities in a fun, innovative way, in order that participants can access activities they want to do, expand their social networks and increase recreational opportunities.

*The programme operates 48 weeks per year and delivers service usually between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm on Saturdays.

Our programme is open to people who:

  • Live in the Inner West.
  • Live at home with their families/carer.
  • Have a reasonable level of mobility.

Be able to participate in activities with a group where there is a team leader, and support worker/volunteer assistants, with a  reasonable level of safety.

*Please note, placement in the programme is subject to eligibility and screening assessments, available space (waiting list available) and funding criteria.
