Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre cares about the safety, health and wellbeing of our people, clients and communities. We are working to provide support across all our programs and activities in responding to COVID-19.
Given the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its declaration by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a pandemic, Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre is taking considered action to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of our people, clients, volunteers, guests, suppliers and contractors. We have had to change the way we run some of our services to help keep our customers and staff safe and healthy. We are doing things such as:
Limiting the number of people who come into our centres
Screening people before they are allowed to enter our premises.
Cleaning our centres, offices more often.
Making sure clients do not share food, drink, cutlery, plates and cups, equipment
Assessing each activity and program to see if it can be delivered via phone or remotely.
3 things to remember we are supporting the community at this time
The centre doors are closed to groups and most staff are working remotely
Our MyAged care and NDIS one on one services are still available
We have established a grass roots volunteer response called Peninsula Caring to respond to locals impacted by COVID-19 and working alongside government and local charities
Peninsula Caring is a network of volunteers who come together to respond to locals impacted by COVID-19 and working alongside government and local charities. All volunteers are screened and supported by the policies and protocols of Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre.
Rozelle Neighbourhood Centre has been supporting the area for 41 years. We are a Community, Disability and MyAged Care organisation located in Rozelle providing well being services and activities to locals of the Inner West LGA. We are an approved NDIS and MyAged Care service provider and a registered charity.
The centre is governed by a Voluntary Management Board and CEO who employs a team of Coordinators, Support Workers and volunteers to implement our programs. We also work with students, interns and work for the dole candidates to meet participation
We also provide a range of drop in services, a meeting place for individuals and groups, as well as community projects and events. We work across the whole community. Regardless of a persons socio-economic situation, we work to find and create opportunities for people to be themselves in the community.
"We work to find and create opportunities for people to be themselves in the community."
